Meet Francine Jodoin and discover her art

Francine Jodoin is a Quebec artist whose creative practice draws inspiration from maritime landscapes, vineyards, travel, and human connections. Through sculpture, she transforms reclaimed materials — driftwood, rope, rusted metal, fabric, stones, and other elements rich with history — into poetic works that evoke resilience, memory, and hope.

Each creation begins with an encounter between material and emotion. Objects marked by time are not concealed; instead, they become witnesses to a past that continues in a new form. Their textures, patinas, and imperfections tell a story, inviting viewers to connect with the work through their own experiences and imagination.

Francine develops collections in which each sculpture has its own title and story. Her works do not seek to faithfully reproduce reality; rather, they offer a sensitive interpretation that leaves room for imagination and emotion. Each piece explores a different world while remaining true to her artistic signature: organic forms, authentic materials, and a deep reflection on the passage of time.

Beyond the sculpted object itself, Francine seeks to create an experience. Each work is an invitation to slow down, contemplate, and discover the hidden beauty in what may once have seemed forgotten. She believes that art can transform not only materials, but also the way we see our own journey. L’Art et la Matière is more than the name of her studio; it embodies her philosophy: revealing the soul of materials to create works that touch the souls of those who encounter them.

When can you meet the artist?

Francine opens the doors of her studio on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. It’s the perfect opportunity to stop by, talk with her about her art, and learn more about her inspirations, techniques, and the materials she brings back to life.

The “Live Sculpting” Experience — Private Event

The artist creates a work of art live for you and your guests.
This unique experience is a memorable way to celebrate a special occasion or birthday. Guests have the opportunity to watch the artist at work, speak with her, and discover the story behind each reclaimed material. At the end of the experience, the guest of honour — or a selected winner — takes home the finished artwork.
