EcoDive Diving Center specializes in training and dive excursions, departing from downtown Salaberry-de-Valleyfield. The school introduces beginners to the sport and certifies more advanced divers, while also guiding enthusiasts on excursions to explore the wrecks of the Underwater Park. In fact, about ten wrecks can be visited starting from Salaberry-de-Valleyfield.
Scuba Diving Introduction and Wreck Visit
The 2-hour introductory session ends in the waters of Lake Saint-François with a visit to the coal barge wreck, a remnant of the former textile mill. All equipment is provided.
What is the coal barge? It was a barge once used to transport coal for the Montreal Cotton mill. However, as rail transport became more popular, barge shipping became less useful. The barge was then reportedly set on fire and sunk. Today, its bow and hold attract a variety of aquatic species, making it a popular underwater site.

The EcoDive shop provides all the necessary gear and allows divers to stock up properly before heading underwater—or simply to equip themselves for their diving practice.
