Circuit of wrecks and several anchors to discover !

What is the Parc sous-marin ?

It’s essentially a discovery circuit of sunken shipwrecks beneath the waters of Lake Saint-François.
Around ten wrecks are accessible near the downtown area, the closest being Le Charbonnier, located directly in the bay. This coal barge was once used to transport fuel to the old textile factory, Montréal Cotton, which now houses Hôtel MOCO. Its bow and coal hold have become home to a wide variety of marine life.

This wreck is also used for ice diving due to its low current and easy access during winter.
A dive buoy marks its location in the bay.
Site coordinates: N 45° 15.501 / W° 74 08.481
