Winter 2009. Iannicko N’Doua, then a theatre student, arrives in Ivory Coast. A father, brothers, and sisters, whom he barely knew or didn't know at all, are waiting for him. Between Sainte-Thérèse and Abidjan, it's a culture shock. How can he bridge the distance, suspend judgment, and forget 20 years of absence?
Iannicko N’Doua presents his first play, directed by his longtime collaborator Marc Beaupré. Far from the clichés to which Africa is often condemned, *Neige sur Abidjan* (Snow on Abidjan) is an intimate work, certainly, but one that contributes to renewing the genre of autofiction by blurring the lines between present and past experiences.
This creation explodes styles and blends the elements that flow through us and constitute us: unstoppable bursts of laughter, outbursts of anger, emotional shocks, flashes of awareness, and the swaying rhythms of coupé-décalé.
