Valspec - Richard Carrière : À la rencontre de la sérénité

Composer and retired educator for several years, Richard Carrière offers a videographic presentation exploring various atmospheres that invite us to encounter serenity. Drawing from a compilation of eight of his soothing melodies, the composer invites listeners to relax and find tranquility.

Before each piece, Richard Carrière shares reflective insights inspired by his music, presenting different contexts that guide a journey toward serenity. Musically, he explains his creative process and occasionally performs brief excerpts. The symphonic orchestrations, crafted by Roger Hewett, are enhanced by the presence of professional cellist Marion Portelance on stage. She performs the solos and orchestral parts of her instrument simultaneously with the presentation of striking video montages. Marion Portelance also completes the program with a selection of pieces of her choice.
